This is a single-seater sofa, the former ROLF BENZ model "575," which was distributed in Japan as "SOB Series SP575."
It is a highly sculptural piece of furniture with a striking form, featuring a backrest that extends widely to the sides and curved armrests that embrace the body, all integrated into one.
From the front, the soft curves project widely to the left and right, while from the back, it creates a dynamic silhouette reminiscent of wings.
The upholstery uses navy-colored faux suede.
The soft, raised texture enhances the curved form, and the natural variations in shade created by the viewing angle and the direction of the nap are unique expressions of this material.
The legs consist of slender metal frames, lightly supporting the voluminous upper part.
In particular, the arc-shaped line of the legs curving backwards gives the entire sofa a sense of lightness and a sharp impression.
This model is a former ROLF BENZ series, now discontinued, for which records of being handled by IDC Otsuka Furniture in Japan can be confirmed.
