Akita Mokko T-5651 Round Dining Table, Oak Veneer, Solid Oak, Beech Wood
Akita Mokko (AKIMOKU) is Japan's only bentwood furniture manufacturer, founded in 1910 in Yuzawa City, Akita Prefecture.
Building on traditional bentwood techniques that have been passed down for over 100 years, they have produced numerous lightweight and durable pieces of furniture, and are also known for their collaborations with leading Japanese designers such as Sori Yanagi and Isamu Kenmochi.
This is Akita Mokko's round dining table, "T-5651".
The 92cm diameter round top features oak veneer, allowing you to enjoy its beautifully consistent wood grain.
The edge of the top employs a technique of bending and wrapping solid wood, subtly showcasing Akita Mokko's woodworking expertise, cultivated over more than 100 years of crafting bentwood furniture.
Particularly striking is the center pedestal, carved from solid oak.
Its organic form, gently widening from the center towards the floor, adds a beautiful accent to the simple round top.
Compared to four-legged tables, there are fewer restrictions on chair placement, and the clear space for feet is another attractive feature.
The 92cm diameter is easy to use as a dining table for 2-4 people, offering a good conversational distance.
The not-too-large round form creates less pressure in a space, making it easy to incorporate into typical dining areas as well as compact living spaces.
Its design pairs well with Akita Mokko's dining chairs, as well as simple chairs from Nordic modern or Japanese modern styles.
This piece can be easily incorporated into a wide range of spaces, from home dining areas to cafes, shops, and lounge areas.
