Maruni Wood Industry maruni Mediterranean Working Desk 90 No.6590-10 Beech wood Silverheart veneer
Maruni Wood Industry (maruni) is a leading Japanese furniture manufacturer founded in Hiroshima in 1928.
Based on its highly skilled woodworking techniques cultivated over many years, Maruni has continued to create elaborate furniture that brings out the beauty of the materials, producing many series, such as "Versailles" and "Mediterranean," that have been cherished across generations.
This is the Maruni Wood Industry's long-selling "Mediterranean" series, Working Desk 90 No. 6590-10.
The Mediterranean series is based on the French Directoire style, adapting traditional European designs to be easily incorporated into modern life.
It combines a clean form that utilizes straight lines with subtle decorations and the warm expression of wood, resulting in a classical yet neat and refined appearance.
This item is a working desk designed to be relatively compact, with a width of 90cm and a depth of 47cm.
The main material used is beech wood, and the top plate uses silver heart veneer, with a parquetry design that changes the direction of the wood grain, giving the top plate an elegant look.
The classical details characteristic of the Mediterranean series, such as the molding around the edges, the delicate chamfering of the legs, and the brass-colored handles, are also attractive.
It features a drawer in the center for convenient storage of small items and stationery, and a two-port power outlet on the back for connecting computers, lighting, etc.
It boasts not only decorative appeal but also practicality that can be easily incorporated into modern living.
In addition to being a work desk in a study or living room, it is also recommended to use it as a console table, taking advantage of its neat proportion with a depth of 47cm.
It can be used as a dresser when paired with a mirror, or it blends well into a hotel-like space when combined with classic furniture or antique-style lighting.
This is a piece that combines traditional design with modern usability, making it easy to incorporate for a long time.
