Hida Sangyo is a leading Japanese wooden furniture manufacturer founded in Takayama, Gifu Prefecture, in 1920.
Starting with bentwood chairs made from abundant beech wood, they have honed their woodworking techniques over many years.
After the war, they manufactured numerous Windsor chairs for the US market, and based on that technology, they developed many masterpieces in Japan, including the "Hotaka" series.
Inheriting the tradition of Hida's craftsmanship and reliable manufacturing, they continue to create high-quality furniture today.
This is a Windsor-style armchair from Hida Sangyo.
It is a striking piece with a large arched backrest, slender spindles, and a decorative openwork panel in the center.
The continuous curve from the back to the arm has a classical charm, and traditional woodworking designs are carefully incorporated, such as turned wood processing on the legs and the supports for the arms.
The main material used is beech wood.
Beech wood, with its fine and smooth grain, is well-suited for bentwood and turned wood, showcasing Hida Sangyo's long-standing expertise in chair manufacturing.
The varying shades of brown finish further enhance the three-dimensionality of the wood and its classical form.
After the war, Hida Sangyo manufactured many Windsor chairs for the US market, and based on that experience, they developed a wide range of Windsor-style furniture in Japan.

■ Regarding large items such as furniture
- Please note that some products, such as glass products, cannot be delivered due to the shipping company's conditions.
- Please note that there are some areas in Okinawa Prefecture, some areas in Hokkaido, and remote islands where we cannot ship due to the shipping company's conditions.
- If the product cannot be delivered or if additional delivery charges are required for lifting or other delivery methods, this will be the customer's responsibility and cancellations will not be accepted, so please be sure to check the delivery route and the size of the installation location.
