Dining Chair: Driade Meridiana Armchair (4) - Italian, Modern, Mid-Century, Luxury
Founded in 1968, driade is an Italian design brand that established its unique aesthetic within the postmodern movement.
Through unconventional ideas and the appointment of cutting-edge designers, driade develops innovative products that fuse with art.
With sophisticated forms and a strong presence, they bring luxurious value to spaces and have earned high international acclaim.
This is the MERIDIANA armchair, unveiled in 2004 by designer Christophe Pillet.
As its name suggests, meaning "sundial" or "meridian" in Italian, it features delicate forms that emphasize the interplay of light and shadow.
Pillet, who worked under Philippe Starck, clearly imbues it with his refined aesthetic.
The shell, constructed from highly durable polycarbonate, has an organic form resembling woven wire.
While inspired by the masterpiece Diamond Chair by Harry Bertoia, a master of American Mid-Century design,
it is finished with a design that elevates materials and structure in a contemporary way.
The intersecting lines catch the light, creating delicate shadows that bring lightness and artistic flair to the space.
It is suitable for Italian modern or Mid-Century interiors, of course,
and when paired with a glass or ceramic table, it creates an even more refined and luxurious impression.
This chair adds design and presence to dining areas and workspaces.
