Dining Chair driade MERIDIANA Armchair (3) Italian Modern Mid-Century Luxury
driade is an Italian design brand founded in 1968, which established a unique aesthetic within the postmodern movement.
With unconventional ideas and the appointment of cutting-edge designers, driade develops innovative products that fuse with art.
Its sophisticated forms and impactful presence bring luxurious value to any space, earning it high acclaim worldwide.
This is the MERIDIANA armless chair, unveiled in 2004 by designer Christophe Pillet.
As its name suggests, meaning "sundial" or "meridian" in Italian, it features delicate forms that emphasize the interplay of light and shadow.
The sophisticated aesthetic unique to Pillet, who worked under Philippe Starck, is strongly reflected here.
The shell, made of durable polycarbonate, has an organic form reminiscent of woven wire.
While inspired by the masterpiece Diamond Chair by Harry Bertoia, a master of American Mid-Century design,
the design elevates the materials and structure to a contemporary level.
The crisscrossing lines catch the light, casting delicate shadows that bring lightness and artistry to the space.
It is, of course, suitable for Italian modern or Mid-Century spaces,
and when paired with a glass or ceramic table, it creates an even more refined and luxurious impression.
This chair adds design and presence to dining areas and workspaces.
