Coffee Table, Center Table, District Eight D8/DISTRICT EIGHT CART, Reclaimed Wood, Industrial, Brooklyn, Vintage Style
D8/DISTRICT EIGHT is a design firm based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
They combine architecture and product design to create unique furniture inspired by industrial parts and mechanical beauty.
In Japan, they garnered attention through Sekikagu's "CRUSH CRASH PROJECT," and in recent years, their designs have evolved to be more contemporary.
This is the CART COFFEE TABLE, combining a recycled wood top with cast iron wheels.
The tabletop uses recycled wood, likely mahogany, a signature material of D8.
The uneven coloring and processing marks, which highlight the character of aged wood, create a unique appearance and bring depth and a sense of gravity to any space.
The coexistence of the warmth and ruggedness unique to reclaimed wood results in a visually striking finish.
The most distinctive feature is the original cast iron wheels.
Designed based on vintage industrial casters, their dull black texture and powerful form exude an overwhelming presence.
While rugged, they also convey a certain classical elegance, boasting a level of perfection that goes beyond mere industrial style.
Perfect for industrial or Brooklyn-style spaces, this table can also create a deeper atmosphere when paired with leather sofas or iron furniture.
It also makes a striking display piece for retail stores like apparel shops and cafes,
and by displaying old books, greenery, or art, it elevates the overall ambiance of the space.
